Waterville Valley Adaptive Sports is a non-profit organization that provides ski and snowboard instruction for New England area children and adults with disabilities. Some of our participants have disabilities which include brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, hearing impairments, vision impairments, multiple sclerosis, cerebral palsy, spina bifida, muscular dystrophy and developmental disabilities. The goal of our program is to provide an opportunity and an atmosphere for people who are physically and mentally challenged to reach levels of accomplishment never thought possible. Through one-on-one instruction by the trained and qualified volunteers and specialized equipment (i.e., mono-ski, bi-ski, outriggers, etc.) the program creates a positive environment in which all individuals can learn and enjoy the freedom of skiing.
